Beyond cinematography I'm passionate about creating resources and tools to serve the filmmaking community both locally and globally.
Prelight is a lighting tool I created to help DP's pick the right light for any given scene or location.
It has a few main features:
- A database of over 220 cinema lights with stats and specs on their output and color accuracy.
- A calculator tool where you can input what camera settings you want to use, see how much light you need for proper exposure, and then create a light setup from any light to see if it gives enough output.
- A compare tool to see how different lights or light setups stack up against each other.

Roger Deakins is an inspiration to many of us. For the ShotDeck recreation contest I decided to try to replicate one of his iconic scenes from Blade Runner 2047. It was challenging, tedious, and put my knowledge of lighting to the test. Ultimately it was very rewarding and I was proud with the result.
